All work and no play makes Traci a dull girl… or at least draw things like this…

I’ve been working really hard to get at least a decent chunk of my portfolio ready for next Saturday, when I’ll be showing it to a few people for potential employment. I needed a five minute break to eat lunch and do some doodling for fun and then this happened.

It’s the result of a conversation ~ESHanninen-M and I had about her character being a twinkie loving fiend that is having withdrawals because there haven’t been any twinkies since December. I know they’re coming back in July, but five months is a long time without if you’re addicted to them.

My Shae is a space-nerd with an atrocious diet full of chips, hamburgers and overly greasy and/or sugary snacks.

I know that Jez is usually a pacifist… but if Shae tried to steal his box of twinkies, it would be war!

For the record… I don’t like twinkies. >_<

Shae’s tattoo…

Which I’m actually hoping to get as a real tattoo in the near future.  Like on Shae, it will be located on my left shoulder and will only be about an inch or so big.  I always wanted to get one of my boy’s tattoos on myself, but most were either too large or located in a place that would be hard to hide.

I hesitated to post this online, since I have seen people steal tattoo designs intended for other people… so I will just leave the warning that if you steal other people’s tattoo designs, then you are the biggest asshole in the world.

Like the Aurynn sketch I did a few weeks ago, I’d eventually like to add a splash of color to it.

The Auryyns and the Alconians are actually very strong allies.

Brothers Aredon and Kyjja… and a first pass sketch of their yet unnamed father.  The three are supposed to look very similar, yet still have their own distinct look and personality at the same time.

A rough sketch of Juneri.  Lately, I’ve been having an urge to draw him playing the drums… as he is a musician.  I’d like to finish this, but it’ll likely be a side project that I work on between other pictures.  IF I even get around to finishing it.

Final face design for Jalen.  Mostly based on a younger looking Jeremy Renner, but has features from other people mixed in as well.

I also figured out his role in the Imperial Suns.  He is primarily a linguist and acts as a translator when they are interacting with aliens that don’t speak common.

Quick ketch of my Ariasha species.  They’re an older animal species… been with me for about 7-8 years but they could use a new reference sheet.  Here’s some initial sketches I’ve done for it.

Some off topic stuff.

A little example of some of the commercial work that I do.  Graphic design type things for different small businesses.  Here’s a few noodlings for a logo design for the Far East Market, a small grocery store that sells different food products from all over Asia.

They’ve got a huge selection of noodles from what I hear.

First pass doodle of Minoschanosath, one of the five Sovereigns of Chaos.  These supernatural beings are ancient demonic creatures as old as the universe itself.  They are very powerful and very evil creatures who dwell in the infernal plane (the Azure Wheel equivalent to hell).  In the past few billion years, they have had no reason to manifest onto the material plane… but that all changed when the Lifestream came into existence and the creatures of the Azure Wheel began to evolve.  Now it is only the power of the Lifestream that keeps these beasts at bay.  Few mortals even know of their existence, save for a few insane cults.

Minoschanosath is the Sovereign of Madness, who in my opinion is the most terrifying of the five.  Think of him as a mish-mash between Sheogorath from the Elder Scrolls games, Xel’lotath from Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, and the most psychotic serial killer that you can think of.

When he speaks, one hears three different voices talking rather than one.  His mere presence is a poison to the mind.

I do have an idea of his appearance in my head.  I just need to think of the small details.  I’m really not sure what his color scheme is going to be like, but I’d like to stay away from reds because I feel they’re too cliche.

I’d really like to do something with the sovereigns in my stories, but like with many other things, they’re taking a seat on the backburner.  Maybe I’ll end up doing something with the cults that worship them instead.
